About the Engineering Program
The engineering program at NMHU consists of two programs:
1. Via Engineering Articulation Programs (EAP) with NMSU and NMT, students can pursue any traditional engineering programs including mechanical or electrical engineering. EAP can be a 3+2, 2+2, or any other combination program based on a student.s readiness for college.
2. A BS degree in Computational Engineering
Specific program objectives are:
- To train students with the computational and computer visualization background needed to conceptualize, formulate, and solve engineering and scientific problems.
- To help students to develop critical thinking skills and be able to use computational methods to conduct simulations and critically evaluate and analyze data.
- To develop the speaking and writing skills needed to communicate effectively with professional, as well as non-professional audiences.
- To understand and be able to apply teamwork philosophies to address problem-solving situations.
- To provide students with the foundation for life-long learning.
- To provide students the education and training identified as important by the governmental and private industry employers of New Mexico, region, and the nation.
