Proposal submitted (1054069) to NSF's Division of Earth Sciences Instrumentation and Facilities Program titled, Acquisition of Geochemistry Analytical Instrumentation and Sample Processing Equipment for Geologic Research at New Mexico Highlands University. We requested funds to acquire rock sample preparation and analytical instrumentation to develop an analytical geochemistry laboratory at NMHU. The requested major instrument, a state of the art wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, will permit routine whole rock geochemical analysis of rocks and other materials for highly integrated and student-involved petrology-geophysics research. Requested $313,644 (pending).
