Mapping to HSCI099

CS 145 Fall 2006

As a student in CS 145, you have your own directory on the instructor's machine where you are to place your completed homework. That machine is called HSCI099 (Note that the fourth character is an "I', not a '1'). The process that allows you to access your directory from a computer running Windows is called "mapping". Here are the instructions for mapping:
  1. Open "My Computer"
  2. The menu across the top should include a "Tools" option. Click on this and on "Map Network Drive..."
  3. In the window that pops up, type the following in the box labelled "Folder"
    \\HSCI099.nmhu.edu\your first name

For example, if you first name is "Fred", you would type:
    \\HSCI099.nmhu.edu\Fred

  4. Click on "Finish"

You should now have a new folder on your system with your first name for its label. Each week you should create a new subfolder inside this folder and call it by the name of the lab week. For example, if you turning in work for lab 10, you should create a folder called lab10. Save all the work you want graded in this folder. Don't forget to include the "ReadMe..." file.
